I know I bang on about shame a lot. That’s because it’s an emotion that always comes up as I progress and uplevel in my singing journey.
In the past, I would be ashamed of experiencing shame and often fear it because it meant uncovering something painful.
Now I see it as the loveable ‘Ghost from Christmas Past/Present/Future’ – all in one. It’s my teacher, leading me to the root cause to clear whatever my faulty belief about myself is and move on… Until it presents itself again in another form because that’s life. And it’s exciting to unpeel the many layers of ourselves.
So, I give you Episode 7 of Fearless Singer: Remove the Shame Splinter and Sing!
You can listen on Spotify | Apple
In this episode, I give real-life examples from my own singing and performing practices where shame has shown up. Not to mention where it took me to my own memories where the belief was created.
I also give examples of how it has shown up in my students’ singing journey. By the way, I give no names or identifiers for privacy.
I also talk more about Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) – expect more content on this transformative strategy to help us overcome singing hurdles from vocal technique to mindset.
Here’s a video I made a couple of years ago explaining what it is and how it can help us. Watch it here!
I also mention how we can use Louise Hay’s mirror work to uncover our beliefs. It’s good stuff, I tell ya!
A little heads up, I’m going to be a bit quiet for the next couple of weeks. I am committing myself to Women In Voice (I’m singing BVs), which is going to be performed at the Powerhouse on 26-28 August. You can get your tickets here.
I’m also singing soul jazz at the Brisbane Jazz Club with a killer band on Friday, 19 August. Tickets are not yet available, but you will be able to purchase these here. Or call up the Jazz Club.
And I’m in the middle of running the Fearless Singer Jazz Club. We have ten amazing members of the course who are so incredibly inspiring. We meet Wednesday nights. The doors are currently closed, but there’ll be an opportunity to join for Round 3 at the end of the year. Also, there will be a chance to come and hear us all sing at the Fearless Singer Jazz Jam – will keep you posted!
As always, let me know what resonates with you in this episode! I love to hear from you.
If you would like help navigating ‘shame’ narratives in your own singing and creating, and need help clearing these, let me know.
You can book a 1:1 Intuitive Healing and Mentoring Session with me online. Your session can be in the studio (Brisbane, West End) or online over Zoom.
Or stay tuned for the Fearless Singer Community Membership Program, where we will work on our limiting beliefs on a weekly basis!
Oh yes! It’s all happening! My mission to see more and more big-hearted people share their wonderful voices with the world is revving up!
Lots of love to you!
